Many people love to do tanning .There are two ways to do tanning, first is for those who can spend hours lying down under sun to tan, and second one is that, you get tanning bed and use it comfortably at your home or either by joining tanning salon. Various researches carried out about the use of tanning beds and skin cancer. Different people give different answers about tanning,   some says they do it to look more attractive, other says they do it to avoid blemishing marks, some justifies it by saying they do it to hide body hair, freckles , or acne marks .Tanning bed is a device emitting ultra violet rays to give cosmic tanning. These beds typically use SUVA 97percentage and UVB, 3% +/-3% to produce a cosmetic tan effect. Tanning beds usually consists of several florescent lamps that emit UV in a spectrum similar to the sun. Some domestic tanning beds have 12 to 28 (100 watt lamps) and bed used in salons usually have 24 to 60 lamps, (100 to 200 watts).Most modern type is "high pressure" tanning beds that generate primarily UVA along with UVB by the help of quartz lamps, reflector and filters. These are quite expensive, but good things do not come free.Various kinds of tanning beds are available in the market. The most commonly are; 16 bulb, 26 bulbs and 28 bulb1. A 16 Bulb tanning bed is standard tanning bed usually for residential use.  This type is best for home users. I t will give you a perfect tanning at home but the only thing matters is the quality of bulbs and their replacement time.2. Twenty-six bulbs it can give you a salon quality tan at your own pace. Tanning at home is definitely convenient. One important issue related to tanning beds is of cancer. Researches about tanning beds and skin cancer suggests, that mostly tanning beds use harm full ultraviolet rays causing skin cancer. Tanning beds use a number of lamps to give tanning effects, theses lamps produces UV radiation, causing skin cancer. Many studies proved that there is correlation between tanning beds and skin cancer. Tanning beds can increase the chances of skin cancer and t his is big disadvantage of using tanning beds. 

The World Health organization suggests that tanning beds should be banned for use of teenagers ages 18 years old and below. This discussion has been made because of the increasing number of patients who have skin cancer due to over exposure to ultraviolet light. There is a direct relationship between tanning beds and skin cancer. At this time using of sun beds is restricted to 18 years old below in different places. Other authorities have been analyzing what to do in this issue. Teenagers are used in utilizing this machine since they believe that they will look more attractive and sexy in the eyes of other people. The preconceived idea made it difficult to find a way to discourage them not to use this machine even though the dangerous outcome can easily be seen.


In our society, adults have a freedom of choice whether they will maintain a healthy lifestyle or take the risks that gambles their health. Tanning beds are continually used by some. It seems that parents should be cautious about this issue and they should not tolerate the actions of the youngsters. They should be well-informed of the potential hazards in doing this, so that they will discipline their children in using these tanning beds. They must inculcate that tanning beds and skin cancer are always related to each other. Doctors have seen growing numbers of young patients who have skin cancer because of the use of tanning beds. Most of the research made said that young ones are eight times more often prone to acquire the disease, called melanoma, if they will regularly use tanning beds. It seems that teenagers doesn't face this issue seriously that is why the World Health Organization continuously warn young people to stay away from tanning beds.


Tanning damages our skin. Even though skin cancer is always related to UVB radiation and sunburns, a lot of professionals say that tanning also produces harmful effects because of the burning sensation. Aside from that, it also causes early aging since it will allow the skin to have wrinkles. Additionaly, it damages our immune system. Various dermatologists say that tanning beds and skin cancer are always interrelated to each other due to the use of tanning beds leads. Several organizations like Food and Drug Administration (FDA), World Health Organization (WHO), Centers Disease Control (CDC), American Medical Association (ADA), and American Academy of Dermatology (AMD) seconded the truth that people should avoid using these because of the negative effects they possess. These organizations hope that the public will follow their advice to prevent the increasing number of patients having skin cancer.
